Apparently the code authors feel that the slope provides an adequate safety margin. Today s residential building code does not include this requirement. In phoenix there is generally a 4 step grade change in the garage floor usually 4 5 from the door into a home for a slab on grade. Garage slab is supposed to be lower than the house slab.
